    The Importance of Having A Network in Digital Marketing

    Networking might rub people the wrong way. However, you may know just as many as a few people within the digital marketing industry. Over the last few years, it has become a popular source of livelihood and steady employment for many – whether they are graphic designers, writers, copywriters, and so much more.

    Another thing that it has afforded is its flexibility, allowing people to live their lives with a little more zest; they can clock in and clock out earlier or later, depending on their activities. It also allows them to spend more time with their families.

    However, if there’s one thing that working remotely in digital marketing has, then it can be a little lonely. From the missing the sound of people’s voices, to missing hangouts, it can be a little tough to deal with. However, when it comes to connections and bonds, you may also want to try networking with those who work in your industry.

    We’ve compiled a list of reasons why.

    Reach People Outside Your Network

    We all know people within certain industries. However, we can also benefit from having people we do not know linked to us. By networking, we can expand our network and connect with people.

    It’s normal to usually stick with people you know, because they feel familiar and you’d feel more comfortable being around them. However, networking is one of the best things that you can do for your career right now. However, a network will be better if you connect with people you don’t know or are close to; after all, what is the point of having a network if you don’t connect with people you don’t know?

    You can connect with people via LinkedIn, or better yet, during in-person conventions or meetups for digital marketing. The world of Digital Marketing in the Philippines may be smaller than what we think!

    Build Relationships

    In the world of SEO services and digital marketing, relationships come in handy. For example, if you’re a link builder, your job is to prospect for links where your business’ guest posts can be posted. You’ll also have to create content. What you are building is a community, of real people.

    You can use social measurement tools like Moz’s, and after that, you have to proactively build relationships. For one, like I’ve said before, you can try to meet new people at industry events, or have your current network introduce them to you.

Also another is one that it helps in helping get talent for future hiring positions in the digital marketing industry. According to Jobvite, 31% of seekers find spots via professional connections and referrals, opening doors that may be out of reach.

    Attracts New Customers

    Lastly, networking in the digital marketing industry can result in more prospective clients – and these prospective clients can become conversions. Efforts thus to network must be proactive. These conversions mean you’ll earn because you will have clients who can benefit from your work in digital marketing, especially if you work somewhere that provides SEO services. The blood and life of agencies that offer these come from none other than the payments of their clients, after all.

    Exchange of Ideas

    With a network in digital marketing, you can exchange ideas professionally and keep trying new things. Learning what other people are working on in their roles can inspire bringing new skills or ideas to the role. Moreover, by sharing your work with new connections, you can have a fresh perspective, which will help you become more motivated to excel at digital marketing.

    For example, if you’re feeling stuck as an SEO writer, you can ask for advice from your co-SEO writers – and someone you know who works as an SEO writer. It helps problems get solved faster, too.

    Socialization

    Networking can help with your social well-being. You might meet new friends who will be with you for life, or you can meet people who will remain your lifelong network contact! However, the heart of networking is about giving – which is also how friendship operates. Some of the people I am close to I have met during my time in the digital marketing industry.

    Besides, socialization has mental health benefits, too.

    A network can fulfill you emotionally but also professionally, regardless of the industry that you are in. Although on paper it might seem troublesome, it can yield benefits that can help improve your quality of life. Happy networking!
