    Explore Barcelona: Art, Culture and Lively Life of a City

    Barcelona is a capital city of Catalonia in Spain which harmoniously combines past, present and the original spirit of the Mediterranean. Known to have stunning architecture, vibrancy of the streets, and the rich cultural heritage, Barcelona is an ought to visit destination that every traveler must add.

    Barcelona Architectural Wonders

    Antoni Gaud is synonymous with architectural genius and most of this is attributed to Barcelona. The surreal and magical effect is produced by his masterworks to the city.

    The Sagrada Familia:  A masterpiece in progress

    The basilica of La Sagrada Familia is one of the best known works of Gaud. It has elaborate facades and tall spires, which attract a crowd of tourists annually. Its construction started in 1882 and is still doing it, so it is a characteristic of dedication and creativity.

     Park Gull: An Escape to Colour

    Built by Gaudi, Park Gull is also a fantasy attraction with bright mosaics, flamboyant sculptures and sceneries that can give one panoramic view of Barcelona. It is an ideal location to capture pictures and scenery as well as have a leisure time.

    As the visitors stroll along Las Ramblas, the city of Barcelona, they will have a sense of local life. There are cafes, street performers and stalls in the streets.

     Gothic Quarter: Back in Time

    The Gothic Quarter or Barri Gotic is a segment of tiny lanes, old architecture and obscure squares. It is here that one can wander about medieval buildings, beverage shops, and cute cafes. Do not forget such a gorgeous Gothic cathedral of Barcelona as Barcelona Cathedral that rises majestically over the neighbourhood.

    Barcelona is not only a city with a history; it also has quite pretty beaches along the sea. Barceloneta Beach is the most well-known one and is ideal both to lie on the beach and to have sports activities or eat fresh fish in restaurants.

     Waterside Entertainment and Eating

    The waterfront has a chance of sailing, paddleboarding and cycling along the promenade. The beachfront cafes offer traditional taps and other local exquisiteness and is the best place to relax.

    The city of Barcelona has an extensive culture with various museums and art galleries.

    The Picasso Museum carries with it one of the biggest collections of Picasso and it traces the development of this artist since childhood to his much-known masterpieces.

    MNAC presents the art of Catalonia, Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, contemporary. The museum is set on a hilltop that provides breathtaking sceneries in the city.

    Barcelona is a city with a strong name for food. There is a close connection between food and culture in this city. This city is the home of various types of food. People in the city are widely known as the foodies.

    The food of Barcelona features a combination of traditional Catalan food and contemporary trends in food. Seafood, tapas and local delicacies are a must-try.

     Malls and Street foods

    La Boqueria Market will treat the senses as it has fresh delicacies along with seafood and local products. Street food markets enable the visitors to have a taste of the real cuisine in Catalonia as they move along the streets.

    Nightlife and Entertainment

    Barcelona also has a lively nightlife, which comes to life past sunset. There are a variety of nightclubs, bars and live music venues which serve a wide range of lifestyles. El Born and the beachside Port Olm are popular places for nightlife.

    Excursions out of Barcelona are not complicated. The climbing trail to the mountain monastery of Montserrat and the scenic view are impossibilities to be missed. Sitges is a beach town, known also by its lively carnival.

    Barcelona is a breathtaking city in love with all those who visit it. Its imposing yet beautiful architecture; its cultural sites and monuments, its beaches, food, vibrant streets make Barcelona unique to every person. Beauty, history, colours, local flavours make up a bright patchwork covering the city and providing it with unforgettable memories.
