4 Amazing Sexual Benefits of Cloves for Men

Are you curious about cloves’ sexual benefits? You’re in the proper location.

One last spice that you can probably name off the top of your head before giving up a tedious guessing game is cloves. Although these tiny dried flower buds are a somewhat well-liked spice, they are also a well-known traditional component of Chinese medicine that may be used to treat a variety of illnesses. Additionally, some studies suggest that cloves may have potential benefits for men’s health, making them a topic of interest for those consulting an online ED doctor for natural remedies.

Some medical claims have even strayed into the realm of sexual health, making people question whether the key to combating erectile dysfunction (ED) or maintaining testosterone balance is truly in your grandmother’s kitchen back drawer.

What gives, then? Can you and your penis get better with a little cloves?

    Not precisely.

Numerous researchers are closely examining cloves, but the findings we have so far are quite limited.

We’ll describe what cloves are, their potential health benefits based on scientific research, and what you should probably do in their place if you’re experiencing erectile dysfunction or other sexual problems below.

    Common Uses of Cloves

You might want to wait if you plan to soak in a bath of ground cloves or make yourself a cup of clove tea.

That clove water you’re sitting in most likely has some skin-benefitting properties, and cloves are a natural antioxidant. However, nothing you purchase from Whole Foods will provide you with sexual benefits from clove tree flowers.

The tiny flower buds that we commonly call cloves are produced by the Indonesian tree species known as clove (Syzygium aromaticum). For centuries, traditional medicine has utilized these dried and cleaned flower buds to treat a variety of illnesses.

They have been used for centuries as substitutes for toothpaste, respiratory remedies, pain management, skin care, and wound healing.

However, a lot of the time, these conventional remedies for conditions like acne, raised sperm count, gut inflammation, nausea, asthma, and colds aren’t supported by solid scientific evidence.

The National Library of Medicine claims that a number of clove applications can actually have as many negative effects as positive ones (more on those in a moment).

However, the benefits of cloves are not just rumors. Actually, a lot of research has been done to see if the benefits these tiny flower buds are supposed to offer for sexual health will hold water.

    Sexual Health Benefits of Cloves

Using cloves to improve sex? Here is all the information you require regarding the possible sexual advantages of cloves.

As much as we would like to direct you to pertinent information, it doesn’t appear to exist at this time because cloves haven’t been studied extensively in humans. The majority of the research on cloves’ sexual benefits has been done on rats, with a few rabbits thrown in for good measure.

The problem is that if it’s helping rats and rabbits, it might help you too in the future because they are both very skilled at having sex.

Cloves have been linked to improved erectile function, increased libido and performance, and improved blood flow, all of which contribute to arousal and sexual pleasure. See the explanation below.

    • Enhanced Blood Flow

Cloves may help improve blood flow to the genitalia, which is the biological mechanism for treating erectile dysfunction, which could have sexual benefits for men.

Achieving and sustaining an erection requires adequate blood flow, and poor circulation is linked to a number of male sexual issues. Eugenol, or clove essential oil, improved the erectile function of diabetic rats, according to a 2020 study.

    • Increased Libido and Performance

The effects of nutmeg and clove extracts together on male mice were examined in a 2003 study. As you might expect, the extracts caused the mice to engage in “mounting behavior.”

The mice weren’t just horny, though; they were also more effective in bed—er, cage—thanks to the drugs, the researchers observed. Of course, this isn’t a treatment for premature ejaculation just yet, but perhaps it will be?

    • Better Erectile Function

Higher libido and potency, as well as prolonged sexual activity, were observed in another study of rats (this one from 2004) that used clove extract. According to the findings, cloves may have aphrodisiac and stamina-boosting properties. We’ll notify you when they begin recruiting volunteers, but this study hasn’t been replicated in humans yet.

    How Cloves Can Benefit Fertility

The impact of lipid-soluble clove extracts on sperm motility was examined in a 2013 mouse study. Numerous drops of clove oil were found to improve sperm motility, mobility, and even count.

But there was a big catch: a higher dose actually had negative effects on male performance and fertility, whereas a lower dose was more effective. To put it another way, there were advantages to clove research, but too much of a good thing could be harmful.

Sexual Health Benefits of Cloves and Honey

There are many claims about the sexual benefits of cloves, honey, and oranges on the internet. However, there wasn’t much solid evidence that the combination of these factors could improve sexual stamina or performance.

However, at least one study on natural aphrodisiacs mentions honey and clove extracts, but it doesn’t go into great detail about their advantages. Because honey is good for the vaginal microbiota, we also found one reference to it in relation to sexual health.

Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be any known medical literature that mentions this combination, which sounds more like an old-fashioned whiskey drink. Having said that, even though it makes us thirsty, we feel free to label this as unproven for the time being.

    Additional Health Benefits of Cloves

The National Library of Medicine states that most common use cases in herbal medicine are not supported by scientific evidence, despite the internet’s numerous claims about cloves’ health benefits.

However, several studies indicate that cloves and their constituent parts may one day benefit some individuals — that is, once additional research is finished.

    • Antioxidant Benefits

Cloves are strong antioxidants. Numerous studies have demonstrated their antioxidant benefits, including one in which they outperformed a number of other dried spices, such as cinnamon and black pepper. In the fight against free radicals, the essential oil with cloves fared as well as coriander.

    • Anti-Inflammatory Benefits

Cloves have anti-inflammatory properties as well. Cloves have antifungal, antiviral, and antibacterial properties that work both externally and internally, according to at least one dermal test on eugenol.

    • Insulin Production

According to a small 2018 study, cloves, when combined with fermented ginger, improved the levels of insulin, blood glucose, and insulin receptors in diabetic rabbits. This obviously needs to be translated into human research, but the findings are encouraging.

    • Tumor Inhibition

We discovered a number of studies discussing cloves’ impact on tumor growth. Cloves may one day be used to treat colorectal cancer because, according to a 2014 study, they can inhibit growth and stop the cell cycle from continuing.

Eugenol appeared to be involved in the inhibition of cells that were otherwise growing out of control in tumors, but again, more research is required.
