Luxury is the name of the game in 2024. You need to look good and stylish without compromising your comfort. So, every penny that you spend must have a single aim; to make you look confident, stylish and comfortable. This is what all of the shirts mentioned below do.
A New Medium
So, first up is A New Medium. Now, you guys have probably heard about A New Medium, but if you haven’t, that’s fine. They’re a brand that is only relatively new, last year, last six months. They are based out of Louisiana. They are the guys that run Iron Shop Provisions. They’ve started to produce their own clothes. Talk about mens luxury t shirts made in Japan and you got this popping up. Yes, these are made in Japan, actually, using the heritage methods and the same kind of fabrics. The fabric is, I think, around 8 oz, so it’s a medium weight. It is a very, very soft fabric.
I think the longevity of this shirt is something that I’ve liked. I’ve kind of worn this into the ground since I’ve had it, and it’s not really changed much. The thing with a lot of these fabrics is, as you wear them, when you first get them they are super smooth and soft. But as you wear them more, they stay soft, but then they get different kinds of textures all over them.
Flint and Tinder
Next up is a t-shirt from Flint and Tinder. I actually didn’t really know that Flint and Tinder did a really, you know, vintage. This is called the Vintage Soft Wash t-shirt, and it’s the closest I would liken to a premium Japanese-style t-shirt. I really didn’t know that Flint and Tinder or Huckberry did these kinds of t-shirts.
Now, the reason why I’m putting this one in here is it’s cheap. It’s only 38 bucks. But for you guys in the USA, this is a good all-around t-shirt that you can buy. You can buy a few, and then it doesn’t matter if they get trashed. I think it’s very, very good value for money. It’s very thin, it’s also really good for summer, and I think the cut is really good on this. Now, for you guys outside of the USA, I’ve got Aret, which is similar to this because it’s really difficult to get Flint and Tinder stuff outside of the USA, with customs fees, so on and so forth.
But for the US guys, this is a great shirt. This is US-made. It is 4.5 oz. It’s really, really, really, really thin. It’s also really, really, really soft. One of the things I was surprised about with this shirt was how soft it actually was, given it was so thin. The problem I find with a lot of thin shirts is they’re a bit wavy and floppy, and they get stretched really easily. After a while, they’re just uncomfortable and don’t complement your style well. I haven’t found that yet with this one.
Champion T-shirt by Bleu de Chauffe
Next up is a very surprising one and a very new one as well, in terms of it’s only just kind of been released. This is from Bleu de Chauffe. You know I’ve spoken about Bleu de Chauffe for a while now. They do bags, they do a lot of EDC kind of stuff, and they also do that really cool navy sweater that I have. They now do t-shirts. This is called the Champion T-shirt. It’s all made in France. They do multiple colors as well. They do this one, which is a crew, they do a green, they do a gray, and they do, I think, a navy as well.
The fit is very, I would almost say boxy, but it’s got a really tight collar, and it’s comfortable. It’s very comfortable, but it’s not your traditional, it’s not your classic kind of fit. Super soft, nothing to complain about there. Some people might not like these stitched-on things. What I will say about Bleu de Chauffe is they love keeping everything in-house and very sustainable. The packaging is so cool. It comes in this little letter box. It’s awesome. They’re a certified B Corp as well.
