Consider exploring silicone crafting ideas to delve into your DIY spirit or earn extra money from a side business. Starting with silicone beads can be safe, too. These are mainly food-grade varieties. You don’t have to worry about coming into contact with harmful toxins. Plus, these squishy and pliable materials let you design different products. You can expand your imagination beyond designing small and simple accessories with steady progress with the craft. However, you get the utmost satisfaction from working with these beads when you know the intricacies of creating unique designs, such as cording, knotting, etc. Here is a quick peek into a few of these aspects so you can begin your silicone bead DIY projects soon.

    • Cording

Check silicone beads wholesale stores for affordable options. These are high-quality, certified beads. You must pick suitable binding materials that match their beauty and strength. Consider using nylon or satin cording to make teething products for your kid. Their ability to fuse with the beads is both aesthetically and practically beneficial. Nylon cording is solid and abrasion-resistant. You can manipulate it to design any silicone bead item of your choice.

    • Knotting

The versatile silicone beads allow you to make various items with proper knotting techniques. Your job will be smooth if you know what knots work best with silicone crafting. Typically, silicone bead products for kids should be made with at least double or triple knots. These can also come undone without proper pulling and fusing. With silicone beads, people want to create wristlets as they look fashionable. You can use elastic cording for them. Since elastic cannot be fused due to its vulnerability to flame, you can tie your design using double or triple knots to keep beads in place.

    • Assembling tools

Crafting silicone beads feels easy with adequate tools, like scissors, needles, needle nose pliers, etc. Choose them wisely. For example, these crafts require sharp scissors for perfect finishing. Otherwise, you may have to make various cuts in the cording, which can damage the fibers. When you choose complex designs, inserting cords through silicone beads can be challenging. However, crafting needles can make your task safe and straightforward. Besides that, you also require needle nose pliers that help you pull out the stuck needles when your hands are slippery. You can rely on them to strengthen your grip around the needle. At the same time, your fingers will be safe when you burn the rope for fusing. For melting and fusing, get a low-flame lighter. Avoid any high-flame device, as it will melt or burn the cord.

    • Additional information

Choosing the right silicone bead size is also crucial. You can buy 9mm beads for lanyards and keychains. 12 to 15 mm silicone beads can be used for teething toys, wristlets, soother clips, lanyards, and keychains. With 19 mm, you can design garlands along with other products. A wholesale beads store can offer everything. So, you can visit it for options.

Deciding where you should begin your crafting journey can be challenging. If you want to do something with beads, there is no need to look beyond silicone initially.
